Lovely Waxing Experience in FURLESS, PJ Jaya One

"I'll never go for a wax, I heard that it's really painful! Why on earth I need to get a wax!" I remembered so clearly on what I have said a few years ago when my friends and me were discussing about personal hygiene especially on the girls part. But it seems, I think for my own good and comfort, finally I decided to have a try.

I couldn't stand the sweat and I couldn't risk any infections. I think girls have to be confidence with her body, have to feel great of their body. Although a lot of friends advice me to just cut and trim, I think sometimes it doesn't help to ease the itchiness and redness. So finally, I took my courage to go for a wax. First I surf the net on any places that offer a less painful service on waxing. There are some but I manage to find this waxing shop with the most compliments ever. "FURLESS".

What it attracts me is the 50% off for first - timer. When I saw the deal, I mean why not? So I book an appointment and go for it. The shop is very hard to find, so I called the staff and they are so friendly to direct me to their shop. It's just beside Starbucks.

It is a lovely place and the main color of the shop is purple, Oh I'm melt! I love purple, it feels liek home as the main color of my home is also purple and the ambience is great! Cooling and retro musc fills the air. I feel really relax while waiting for my treatment.

After filling up my details on a form, I was directed to the toilet along with a clean warm towel and an antiseptic paper towel to clean my private part. What more could I say. The shop is very hygienic. It impresses me and I felt like I was treated like a queen.

After that, I was directed to my room. Wow, a mini designer waxing room that puts a smile on my face, I just love it! The staff asks me to take off my clothes and undies and change it to a purple chiffon material body towel. She is nice, she gets out from the room for a few minutes so that I could change.

The waxing process isn't that bad. I admit the painful part is the middle part but the rest is fine. The therapist chats and explains with me on certain procedure while she is helping me on the waxing service. She didn't rush for the process which is really good.

They have total of 3 different type of wax and each type serves and wax different part of the skin depends on the condition of the skin, whether they are sensitive, more hair and etc...

Aren't they sensational? Purple, purple and more purple and I sensed IKEA furniture as well *wink

I am always easy to drown towards designer looking places because I feel artistic and I feel the feeling of luxury. It will be so nice to born rich huh, LOL, i day dream a lot I guess...

After the waxing has finished, my therapist performs a cooling treatment on my private area that cools down the itchiness and redness caused by the waxing process. But I am glad, no scar and I ... finally feels fresh. She advices me to come back and wax after 5 weeks later so that the waxing process wouldn't be as painful as the first time and also asks me to apply lotion on that area to protect and moistures the skin.

So, rating time... I rate 4.9 stars out of 5 stars of this waxing shop "FURLESS" I had a great first time experience, now it's your turn!

Loving Broadway Hair Salon

Hi peeps, today I am going to blog about my recent fav hair salon. It's called the "Broadway" Hair Salon. Well, it's obvious that the name "Broadway" attracted me as first. I took the guts to try out the salon and trust me, I know nothing about "Phyto"'s products. But once I had the treatment there and also use it for my daily hair wash and care. I must say, I love it!

Phyto is an organic products and they produce from shampoo, serum, mask to intensive treatment for hair. I will blog about the products I use for my hair care later but today I am going to blog completely about the salon that uses Phyto's products, "Broadway"

I must say I very impress about the staff there, friendly and kind. They are not those aggressive promoter who keeps promoting and asking you to buy the products. First thing when you have decided to undergone one of the hair or nail treatment there, they will serve you a drink and as usual, will provide you some magazines to read on while waiting.

Reading the magazine while being pampered

Next they will pamper you by washing you hair and a great massage for your head, neck and back. (I really love this one). I must praise on their massaging skills seriously, it feels so relieving. The treatment I did is Anti Dandruff treatment and it costs RM130. Some of you might think it is expensive but trust me, you'll enjoy the whole process until the end.

Steaming my hair ( Part of the treatment process)

One of the machines that I am attracted to is their Nano Ionic Vibrating Hair Dryer that will blow up steam. Seriously I forgot about the exact name of the machine, but I love it! The warm steam makes me feel refresh and comfortable.

This picture do shows that I am really enjoying the Nano Hair Dryer Machine (Wish I know that name)

The result, my hair becomes healthier and not as dried as last time. Plus, my dandruff is lesser, scalptoo, not really itchy as last time. I used to bleach and color my hair alot. If you have known me long enough, you will see me changing my hair from blonde to chocolate. Now my hair is in dark brown and I think I better stay with this color as halloween is approaching I would like to impersonate Mrs Lovett's from Sweeney Todd. *Wink

So if you are tired and you would like to do some treatment for your hair, go for "Broadway". They are professional and they know what are they doing. Not to mention, they use Phyto, which is a very god product. Google it and you will see lots of people are giving good reviews about it. Good luck and happy experiencing the service! Oh yeah, they are currently doing daily promotions. Check the picture below of their daily promotions, try now!

Learn to act? You gotta be kidding girl!

This is not the first time that I've experienced receiving the look and stares of what others look at me as a person who teaches drama for a living. When every time someone asks for my occupation. I would say I am a drama teacher. Then I'll be ready to receive one of the two kinds of reactions. A) They will be amazed, thinking this is something really special and they would like to know more. They are curious and they show interest of it. B) They will laugh at you. Not directly but the look that they gave you just showed that they are laughing at it inside their heart.

Well, honestly I tend to get offensive about it before but it will made to become stronger and to tell them things that they didn't really know before. Recently I get these looks from a teachers training workshops but I successfully captured their attention to listen to me, to listen on what "Acting Lab" really is! Other might think that we don't need to learn acting. That's totally wrong! Unless you were born with this talent, but still, even raw talents need to be brush up. It won't hurt to know more and to explore more! Acting is not just for anybody, it's for you. You get to discover yourself even more through all the theatre games, exercises and activities that we do in the class. In the end of my presentation, surprisingly they give another kind of look now. The look of "believing" and also to accompanied by an applause. I feel glad, thankful and proud at the same time.

Acting is not just for stage performance or to be in front of the camera. Benefits of acting may also applicable to our daily life. Shakespeare is right, the world is a stage. Yes, it's true! We are the actors in the world. We create lots of drama daily even without us noticing it. But do you know that it's hard to act naturally when you need to perform what you've done on the stage or in front of the camera? The exact feelings, the exact thoughts, moments... and ambience? Tell you what, it's not easy.

I am not expressing any anger in this post. I just would like to say that Acting is really an art and acting could take us to go beyond our imaginations. We could portray somebody and we also could share other people thoughts. It's just magical! Please do not laugh at people who studied acting. They are totally genius and guess what, they discover themselves more than you and also a risk taker to learn something special in life.

Lovin' MODBOX

Yup! Today I am going to blog about something I have just received yesterday. MODBOX! Maybe you are not familiar with it but MODBOX is an online beauty products site. I love their concept of trying the samples of the products first only consider of buying the product. Well, the samplers are not free but I would say, it's cheap. It's only RM9+, the "+" would be delivery charges, depends on your region. :) And trust me, delivery is super fast! Totally satisfied with that!

I feel like a "lady" when I am officially being the MODBOX's client. Once they shipped your items, they would send you an email describing how you wonderful packages being wrapped and store nicely in the box to be delivered to you. It's like that box is a treasure or gem box or something. I must say it was very sweet. So yeah, when it arrives, I unboxed it with full of excitement because it's my first time purchasing samplers from MODBOX. Well guess what, it successfully brings a smile on my face. Why? Have a look at the picture below, it will explains it. :)

So there are 3 samplers I ordered, 1 is Murad Refreshing Toner, 1 is Lavera's Hand Cream ( With Organic Almond & Shea Butter), another one is Kneipp's products ( Body Lotion Almond Blossom, Herbal Bath Eucalyptus (Sinus Relief Function) and Herbal Body Oil Lavender. Well, I have tried the hand cream and I love it! The sweet almond smells really did attract my dog Perry, she thought it's some sorts of food she could eat! My hands feel smooth and soft after using it. Hm, but I would still stick to my Holika Holika's Garden Recipe Water Drop Hand Cream because the smells are more light and relax, also my hands feel like baby hands after using it.

Other products I haven't used it though, I am thinking to first store them in a small container only I would try them, if not all will be wasted and I would never want them to be polluted with the dust and bacteria in the air. :) I'll review them later.

So if you love the products you used, you could purchase them from their site :) www.modbox.com.my. So why wait! Get yourself a MODBOX now! Be MOD, BE AWESOME! *wink*

Assistant Lecturer???

It was a shock actually of me being an assistant lecturer. I have never thought about this before in my life that I would one day becoming a lecturer. My dream is always to be become a director because I have so much of ideas to share it out with all the people in this world. Time passes like a flash and I begin to miss acting. The "Actors" enjoys every moment on the stage, portraying a character when director only gets to either sit down on one of the audience chairs or standing by far watching his/her masterpiece. I want to act and I think it's time to get back on the stage, I'm not kidding!

Wearing the Graduation Look as an Assistant Lecturer

So here I am, as an assistant lecturer at a private college, carrying briefcase and assessing students. Wow, is it a dream or what? I have done freelancing in teaching Speech and Drama for kids, I have became a drama teacher for Fairview International School... but seriously I really like the new environment now, being a lecturer is not that bad. Despite all the workload, I still able to handle it as I am still doing what I like to do or teach. Something involves with theatre, something involves with TV yes! I feel really satisfy sharing what I learned in the pass to the kids and do my very best to train them to become a good and quality performer!

Nobody pressures me, but I admit I am someone that pressures myself. I feel that my journey didn't stop here. Building a castle is not easy, I keep reminding myself that you have to build lots of stable walls only you could build your dream castle. That's what I'm doing. Hopefully by the age of 28, I will achieve something. Something I dreamt of, something I wish of.

I still remember once I attended a teachers training workshop, there is a flash, crossing my mind saying " Gabbie, why are you here? Is this the place that you want to be? Is this the things that you want to do?" From that moment, things are very clear to me. I don't want to be an educator! But now I realized on something, perhaps it's the method, the culture, the environment at that time being makes me do not want to be a teacher. I feel difficult to communicate with other teachers because their subjects are not related to me. Topics, views and opinions are different. Plus, they are competing with each other on their skills and knowledge. They are NOT even open minded to other peoples thinking and views. THAT is not really healthy.

But so far, I feel comfortable in this new company. Well, it's still only the third month for me so better not to judge so much. Lets give me a few more months to see how well things will go. I begin to sense pressure, but so far they are positive pressure so I am still fine :) Will update about my job progress later... What I wish is, I hope to grow with this company, it makes me a better educator and as a theatre activist too, also it helps the company to build up their entertainment arts programme! That's perfect!

Welcome To My Blog

Hi loves... Welcome to my blog. It's a surprise right that I recreate a blog, seriously to tell the truth, I haven't blogged for ages... I think more than 5 years! The reason I recreate this blog is to share my experience and interest with my friends and also all of you whom I don't know out there. Actually I love reading blogs, so we could actually link our blog together so we could check each other out often. I believe blogging is like a diary. I never write diaries though because I don't think I am hardworking enough to sit down 15 mins on the desk and write what I feel or what happened to me on that day. Since I have a blog and an IPAD in my hand, posting new posts will be much more easy for me :)

So, a little introduction about me. My name is Gabbie and I was born in Kuala Rompin, Pahang. I am typically someone who has drowned in the performing arts world. Loving everything about theatre. I studied Drama in University of Malaya, majoring in directing. I just graduated last year and now I am working at KDU University College in KL. I pass my free time by singing karaoke, shopping, watching Youtube and playing games. My current favourite singers are Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga. My weakness, I think I could be a little bit lazy sometimes. Haha...

My life has been changed since what I was in 5 years ago. You may know me as a " Linnet bird in the cage". I have a strict family and I don't mix much with other people. Since I migrate to KL and study, things changed. I have the freedom that I've been wanted for so long, I became more adventurous, more daring and love to try new things. I hit walls and walls, joy and pain and become the person I am now! So, I think it's a good thing though, we grow up and we change. We see things in a different way. We advice people who needs our valuable opinion and we share our passion together.

My birthday has just passed and I can't believe I am turning 25 now! It's weird right, girls usually get paranoid at the age of 29, afraid to turn 30 because they will be entering another phase of life. s for me, "25"! is like a "rush hour" for me. I change a lot of things, my fashion, my image, my taste and mostly everything. I start to see what kind of class I could take to enrich myself before I get old. I am still carrying the dreams of at least act as "Christine" in The Phantom of the Opera musical. That's why I have been working hard on my singing skills. Trust me, classical singing is not easy! I'll share more about this later.
